Perfect Sunset/Proposal Sailing
I was proposing to my girlfriend, and Rodrigo was absolutely awesome and made sure everything was perfect. He helped me pick the perfect time, took pictures, and helped me plan. As well as, his communication was perfect on how, when, and what we would do. Took all of the stress off of me. And if you get the opportunity to his food was delicious. This was an amazing and relaxing experience, and was the best one I could’ve chosen. The sailing was perfect, and he even gave an awesome little history lesson on the area which I loved as well!

We took clients/friends on a magical sunset cruise with Captain Rodrigo. It was perfect! He is so kind and knowledgeable. The boat was lovely, and the water and sunset were amazing. He cooked a delicious meal and we laughed and told stories; it felt like we had known him forever. I cannot recommend this experience enough. Our clients were so thankful. It was a very special evening!

What an amazing day we had celebrating my dad's birthday! We spent the day sailing and trying out paddle boarding, and Captain Rod made the experience even more enjoyable with his friendliness and great service. The food we ordered was absolutely delicious too!

Amazing

had a blast! my gf booked this for the second half of my birthday and the evening with Rodrigo was great! overall, an amazing experience— my only “input”or concern would be something I could share with Rodrigo offline on a separate email or IG direct message for future experiences. definitely nothing that would take away from my rating. I highly recommend it, and I enjoyed laughing my evening away and seeing amazing views. we went on 7/4 and got to see a 360 view of fireworks says my gf! thanks!!!

Captain Rod is a very competent and personable captain. Very easy to work with. If you know how to sail, he is all for it. Boat is very comfortable for 4 in addition to the captain. The boat is on the older side but very well maintained and comfortable. No hesitation in recommending Captain Rod and his boat.

The sail was great! Rod is a welcoming and easy going captain with a full command of a comfortable boat for 6. He's a fun guy to be with on the water. He caught the vibe of the group and took us to places he knew we would like, including swimming in a neat cove and seeing a picture perfect sunset. Hope to go again soon!

Perfect day. I so appreciate that our captain took extra care to be sure my 94-year-old uncle had a phenomenal day out on the water. They swapped old sailing stories for hours, my uncle took the helm when he could, etc. The boat is in great condition, very comfortable. And our captain was very knowledgeable about the sites we passed, water conditions and more. I truly look forward to another outing on Steven's and Rodrigo's boat.

Wow, what a fabulous experience with Rodrigo. We were introduced to Rodrigo from the concierge of the W Hotel in Miami Beach as my friends were staying there even though we live in Miami. We wanted a sailing experience with a captain that interacted with us and let us participate in sailing. We also wanted to enjoy lunch on the boat. Rodrigo is absolutely lovely!!!! He is kind, friendly, gentle and always has a big smile on his face. My husband and I are learning to sail and he really engaged us and taught us many aspects about sailing. This did not take away from the luxury experience for our New York friends. We loved our experience so much that we took our two adult sons who were visiting a few weeks later for a day out.
I highly recommend joining Rodrigo for a sail around Miami!!!!!

What a birthday gift! Oh man was this an excellent experience. Captain Rod was just excellent! Really knows his way around sailing, and his beautiful sailboat has plenty of room for 6 people and has all the amenities any gal could need! The bathroom was clean and functioned perfectly. We went swimming , sailing, and saw dolphins swimming along side of us a huge Stingray and the most beautiful sunset over Miami. Captain Rod is also an incredible cook and served us an incredible lunch, and then brought out a birthday cake and champagne for a birthday toast. The birthday cake was so delicious. It was a birthday I will never forget! If you want a special day on the Biscayne Bay you gotta book a day with Captain Rod! I promise you will just love it!

We joined Rodrigo for a wonderful day as a party of 4 with two young children 5 and 7. Rodrigo tailored the entire day (pick up and drop off location and time) and course for the day based on real time assessment of weather and the groups preferences.
We sailed on the beautiful water, cruised into the mangroves, paddle boarded, bbq’d amazing food customized to our preferences, and had a sunset cruise across the bay and Miami skyline.
Rodrigo was wonderful and recommend for any family and group of adults.

Best unique experience I ever had in Miami. If you’re looking for the right moment to disconnect and reconnect with your love ones this is the plan. The boat is beautiful with great history behind, and the two captains are part of the most interesting people I ever met and conversed with. The food is better than most of the restaurants I’ve been in my life, and it has this home flavor added to it. Prices are amazing compared to any other similar experience. Defined a no brainer.

Couldn’t ask for a better boat or captains
Steve and Rodrigo were great captains, great with the kids, and made the sailing an amazing adventure. The skirt steak was amazing and changed our view on skirt steak! If we go back to Miami we would definitely look to charter with them again. The boat was great and they are willing to cater the trip to your liking. Highly recommend, especially with kids.

Fantastic sail as well as swim in Biscayne Bay! Capt. Rodrigo was very good, professional and even thought us a lot about sailing. My boys and I got to steer the sailboat. The cabin inside had plenty of room with two bathrooms and kitchen. My family and I had a relaxing time and we will be recommending Destino and Rodrigo to our friends and family.

Captain Rod hosted us in March, and it was very memorable. He was clearly very experienced and knowledgeable. Even pre-booking, I had a lot of questions (due to my lack of experience) and he took 30 minutes of his time to answer them all. I also asked for some custom food items to surprise my partner, and he fulfilled every request (within reason). He also took a lot of photos of us, and sent them to us later, included. If you're getting a meal, that was the only part he had to juggle between sailing the boat and also prepping the food. Probably could have been smoother, but my partner was a very willing participant to steer the boat. Overall, I would book Destino Charters again next time I'm in Miami area.

Wonderful sunset cruise around Biscayne Bay, taking in Stiltsville, Cape Florida and Key Biscayne! Capts Rod and Steve were welcoming and excellent hosts ensuring all those onboard were having a good time (even for the non-sailors). Communication was clear and concise about pickup point, times and what to expect (including some detailed weather updates on the day) . We departed the dock as planned and returned exactly at the time agreed. the younger kids onboard (and all) were given a safety chat about some boat rules like not going up on deck before asking in case we were about to tack :) Happy to say that this was delivered in a friendly and non-threatening way - which I've experienced on other boats with more grumpy Captains!
The overall quality of the boat was exemplary, nice and clean and tidy (including below deck and the head). Rod is an amazing chef and provided a fantastic spread of charcuterie and snacks along the way. He's also a great photographer and as an extra surprise sent us his pictures shortly after the trip!
Both Steve and Rod are enthusiastic and proud hosts in Miami, and obviously passionate about the local environment, never missing an opportunity to talk about the Bay in general with it's rich history (natural and political). Will definitely be back for more when the next band of tourists / guests come to visit! :) Thanks capts Rod and Steve! Hope to see you on the water again soon.

My wife and I did a 5 hour sunset sail that was unbelievable! Anytime that we go near the coast (from the Midwest) we try to do a sailing excursion. Over the years we have had some great ones, but this was our favorite! Captain Rod let me take the helm for a good bit of the trip which was amazing! The conditions were great for sailing and coming back into Miami after sunset was beautiful. I would love to go sailing with Captain Rod in the future! Cap Rod was a gracious captain, host, and guide. We enjoyed our time with him! 6 stars!! I highly recommend!

What a beautiful experience. Capt. Rod and Steve were terrific guides, and provided great commentary and conversation. A four hour tour (4-8 pm). The sail was glorious, and we even had a short race with the Elizabeth. We enjoyed a sunset dinner on the bow - charcuterie, salmon ceviche and creme brûlée. Apparently, Capt Rod is also a chef👨🏻🍳). Delicious.

Absolutely loved our experience with Destino Charters! We took the sailboat out with Rodrigo for 4+ hours one day and it was the highlight of our trip. Rodrigo was SO accommodating with schedules (even helped us get to the airport), and he was really fun to chat with. He even took photos on his professional camera and shared them with us after – unexpected but so appreciated! We had a blast sailing with Captain Rodrigo and Chez on a 3 night, 4 day sailing adventure from Miami to Key Largo and back. The trip exceeded our expectations. Several surprises - the delicious taste and variety of each meal, the flexibility in our plan to snorkel where we wanted, the pictures they provided following the trip, the overall attentiveness to our needs from blankets, to chairs while on the bow etc. The snorkeling was better than any I have experienced in the Caribbean. The boat was comfortable for 4 people. They welcomed our participation in sailing as much or as little as we wanted to and they were eager to share their sailing stories and knowledge. I really appreciated Rodrigo's approach to planning the trip with meetings in advance and sharing our route for feedback. Will be back again!

Sailing the Best of Biscayne
10 stars if i could! From booking to the end of the trip, Rodrigo was absolutely fantastic! Communication was top notch, the boat was fantastic. Lots of room onboard! The cabin underneath has a great kitchen and galley area for meal prepping. Rodrigo really took the time to figure out what kind of adventure we wanted. Did we want more of a laid-back environment or really go sailing. This is booked for my husband’s 42nd birthday my husbands very much and detailing and Rodrigo made his day! My husband was smiling ear to ear. Is Rodrigo allowed him to help sailing the boat and really talk my husband the ins and outs of sailing . We brought on board a couple of snacks as our first charter we did not really know what to expect a Rodrigo does offer amazing food that we will be taking advantage of next time when we book! Rodrigo really knows the area, lots of history of the area, and it was an absolute gem to be around!he even got some amazing photos of us and emailed them! I really cannot wait to book our next trip with Rodrigo. We did it for our excursion this time, but definitely would do longer. The experience was so much fun that the time flew by! Yet again another fantastic sunset sail with Capt. Rod and Destino Charters.
Calm seas with a light breeze meant we got to sail for most of the trip. The kids loved it, and fell asleep almost as soon as the motor was switched from diesel to sail :)
The hospitality onboard is second to none and Capts. Rod and Steve really go out of their way to make you feel at home on the water whilst viewing the Miami skyline, the Key Biscayne coastline and a close-up look at Stiltsville.
Will definitely be back for another trip soon, never gets old or disappoints.

Amazing sailing experience in Miami!
nture! We spent 8 hours out in the ocean sailing all around Miami. Our Captain and his 1st mate were awesome! They took care of our every need. They also take amazing photos, which they sent us, as well. The food we ate was delicious! I can't wait to visit Miami again and go out sailing with these guys!. I plan on bringing friends and family next time I come to experience this awesome adventure! I highly recommend these guys!!!

We took a sunset cruise with friends. Wonderful experience.
Cap. Rodrigo created a 4-hour itinerary so that we could enjoy a tour of the Bay, take a swim in a safe and secluded area, and then conclude with an amazing view of the sun setting, with champagne and a bite to eat.

We had the best time with Rodrigo & Steven! My family and I wanted to do a full day of sailing - but that’s not all we got: We got to sail along the shore of Miami ourselves (which we wanted! and joined by dolphins!), we got to sail into the Miami harbour area, we got to have dinner at sunset with a view on the Miami skyline and we got to sail back during the night. Easily the highlight of my trip! Rodrigo and Steven were such amazing captains, guides, chefs, photographers, and snorkel companions! The sailboat is wonderful and our trip was perfect! My husband booked us a 4-hour sunset cruise to celebrate my birthday week. Captains Rodrigo (Rod) and Steven gave us a memorable experience. We had an opportunity to sail up to a cove area and stopped to paddle board to a closed cove. We got to see a stingray and a few small jellyfish along the way. We brought on board our own snacks and a bottle of bubbly to celebrate life and living. It was incredible to see the glow of the evening sky as we sailed around some more and then back to harbor. We spent the last leg of our sail on the bow in comfortable seat backs, enjoying the warm evening air listening to jazz from our own playlist. Capt Rod took some incredible pictures and videos to memorialize the night. I would highly recommend a boat tour with them and would definitely go again the next time we're in Miami.

Embarking on the boat excursion was an absolute delight, and I cannot praise it enough! As we set sail, the boat glided gracefully over the crystal-clear waters, offering breathtaking views of Miami's coastline. They ensured each guest felt valued, attending to our needs promptly and offering refreshing beverages and snacks to keep us energized throughout the six hours trip. The boat excursion's timing was also ideal, providing ample opportunities to soak in the sun, capture stunning photographs, and create memories to cherish forever. As we sailed back to the harbor, the golden hues of the sunset bathed the landscape in a mesmerizing glow, leaving us with a sense of tranquility and gratitude. We went out in a group of 6 on a Saturday in early July. I’ve lived in Miami for ~9 years so have been on my fair share of boat charters. Captain Steve and Rodrigo truly went above and beyond to make this the best charter I’ve been on. Nicest guys in the world, love to teach about sailing and the boat (even let me steer for a bit!), and were more than happy to accommodate any requests. Unlike the big name charters, they happily exceeded all my expectations. The food they cooked was amazing as well. At the end of the trip, they even dropped us off at a nearby dock because we wanted to check out a local restaurant! 100/10 will charter with them again.

Amazing sailing experience
What an amazing 4 hours of sailing with Captains Rod and Steven! We couldn't have asked for better hosts, sailing instructors, photographers, chefs, and tour guides. Our group of 2 moms and 4 teen girls were spoiled and truly felt the individual attention given to us that made our experience so personalized. We not only had great weather, but we came home with happy memories that will last a lifetime! I have been sailing on two different charters prior to this one, but this trip was by far the absolute best! Look no further when you want to sail and get a most unique perspective of Miami. We went out with Captain Steven and his mate for a cruise around Biscayne Bay and had a wonderful time. Stopping in a cove for a lovely swim and some delicious steak prepared by our wonderful crew we swam around peacefully with our family and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the open water. Afterwards we went for a beautiful sunset sail through Stiltsville which was a historically interesting experience. The colors in the sky were amazing and I really enjoyed our conversation with the two gentlemen so much that I can't wait to go out with them again and have referred several clients to go out on the water with them. Also, as an added bonus they sourced some wonderful charcuterie with very high quality meats and cheese in a wonderfully diverse assortment which they served us with several lovely wines and beers! It was amazing :) Sailing in Miami when you live on Miami Beach is a wonderful way to experience the open water, and what's also nice is that they were able to drop us off in Coconut Grove afterwards so that we could go out and party afterwards. Incredible day on the water!
The three of us had an amazing day on the water. We spent four hours cruising and Captain Rodrigo did a great job touring us around and even brought us some coffee and special Cuban pastries because we had to move the tour up a little earlier to avoid an afternoon storm. We ended up with incredible weather and were even treated to a surprise visit by a family of dolphins who came right up to the boat! We spent about 30ish mins swimming, got to enjoy lounging at the front of the boat and had a relaxing, fun time. Would definitely recommend!

Amazing birthday trip with swimming, dining, and a beautiful sunset
I highly recommend Captain Steven and Rodrigo for your boating needs. Spending the afternoon on their 40ft sailboat, Mystiko, was a slice of heaven…we could not have asked for a better experience. They found a perfect spot to let our family take a swim, had an amazing playlist that set the mood, and they organized an absolutely incredible charcuterie board and steak/salmon barbecue for my sister’s birthday. Sailboat Experience
We had such a wonderful time with Rodrigo and Steve. They were excellent in explaining the basics of sailing and even allowed us to get our hands (briefly!) on the wheel. They were very attentive, kept our group well fed and took beautiful photos. We stopped and had a chance to spend some time in the water by the bay and really got to enjoy the beautiful sights of Miami and Key Biscayne. The sailing experience was incredible and truly one of a kind. Would highly recommend and look forward to our next trip with them!

Birthday Sunset Cruise
We had such a wonderful time on our sunset cruise! The guys were so fun and kind - they played music, brought food and drinks, chatted with us, and made sure we had a great time. They customized where we went based on what we were hoping to see and where we would have the best views of the sunset. They helped set up a charcuterie board, then gave us some lounge seats to go sit up on the bow. We all had so much fun, and it was definitely the highlight of our trip to Miami!

Perfect Day on the Water
Steve and Rodrigo were a blast and truly wonderful people. We all had a great time on a beautiful day sailing the Bay and swimming at No Name Harbor. Our out of town guests loved the experience. Rodrigo also took awesome pictures of our group. We will definitely be joining them again!

5 star experience!
Captains Rod and Steve were so great and the boat was amazing. Captains were clearly knowledgeable about the bay and all things sailing and made us feel so welcome, from the moment we arrived!
We sailed around sunset and it was truly beautiful.
We had champagne and charcuterie, which was perfect for the late afternoon/early evening hour.
The boat was beautiful and so comfortable and room for us all. They let us sit on the bow for awhile in chairs, where it was whole different experience and also so peaceful.
I can’t say enough nice things about how friendly and customer focused Rod and Steve were and how pleasant they made our trip. I highly recommend this experience, was worthy it!. I’ll definitely do it again.

Exquisite scenic views of Miami and the bay on board of a gorgeous sail boat.
The voyage is a unique experience different to any other. The sails make it particular and exquisite. The only sound of the sails and wind is so relaxing and inspiring. The Capitan and the second Capitan Steve and Rodrigo will surprise you with their gestures and details, they are SUPER HOSTS!!! I felt unique on board of their boat. It was very special. I will never forget. THANK YOU.

Excellent sailing trip

Beauty and peace on the bay
My friends from out of town and I had a beautiful, peaceful four hour sail on Biscayne Bay. This is a way to experience sailing and Miami views with comfort and enough quiet to not scare away the dolphins! We had a few some right up to the edge of the sailboat. Steve and Rodrigo are attentive and friendly. Authentic outdoors people/sailors who love what they do and are genuinely happy to share knowledge and stories without being overbearing. There was excellent communication in planning the trip and advice on what to bring/where to park, etc. We had planned to bring our own food, not realizing that Rodrigo is a sandwich expert! He brought supplies just in case and my friends were happy to be fed. He also took and later sent lots of great photos (including the one with this review) throughout the day so that we could put our phones away and not worry about getting the memories! We were able to stop and swim in a calm area off Bill Baggs State Park. Excellent time all around.

The best day out on the ocean!
Our time with Captain Steve and Rodrigo was perfect, from planning our day out at sea to saying goodbye. Rodrigo was really amazing at accommodating all our needs, finding the perfect day during our stay, planning our meals based on the freshest ingredients he found that week, planning a route that gave us an opportunity to snorkel and swim, providing the perfect ambiance for a relaxing sail (music, champagne and a beautiful charcuterie board). I would not change a thing about our time out with captain Steve and Rodrigo. I will certainly give Rodrigo a call when I’m back in the area. Thank you!

First Class in all categories
I do not give Capt's Steve an Rodrigo a five, but a 10 - Outstanding.
My wife and I hosted three future US Military leaders from West point on a very memorable sail. We saw a spectacular Sunset and an equally spectacular Full Moon rise. Our Capt's couldn't be more helpful, they catered to every need and served a mouth watering steak dinner.

Top-notch Miami personalized experience you’ve never had.
What a wonderful experience to be sailing with these wonderful people. They know sailing, they know (Latin-style) life, they know a lot about great (delicatessen-style) food and great drinks (bourbons, tequilas, mezcals and great tasting Chilean and Argentinean wines).
It’s a lot of fun in a safe, very responsible atmosphere and environment. Highly recommended. It’s a special, one-in-a-lifetime experience.

Sunset Miami Cruise

A Night To Remember
Captain Steve and First Mate/ Cook Rodrigo provided us with excellent company and fantastic food. From the beautifully prepared charcuterie board - loaded with fresh salmon, Brie, crackers, salami slices, grapes and homemade dip - to the pinkish orange sunset, my college friends and I will surely remember this fantastic experience forevermore. If you are lucky like we were, you’ll notice a pod of dolphins swimming alongside the sailboat. So if you’re looking for a good time, we implore you to book a ticket with Captain Steve and First Mate/ Cook Rodrigo!!

Amazing experience
We had so much fun on this boat. My girlfriends loved it. Rodrigo and Steve were very kind to
us and considerate of our needs. They took amazing pictures and gave us enough space.
We spent about 5 hrs on the boat and every minute was special.

Grand day out!!!
Excellent day for sailing ……. Stopped at a cove and learned to paddle board! And was made and excellent dinner on the grill. Sail back in the evening allowed us a beautiful view of the city skyline. Perfect day out on the water. And the crew made it perfect for us.

I would go Sailing on Mystiko over and over again
We had a lovely time for my birthday. It was a perfect day for sailing and Capt. Steven's Benneteau is beautiful. We paid a little extra for Capt Steven and Rodrigo to grill some steaks for us while my party took a swim. It was a special experience to sit in the lagoon at the end of key Biscayne and smell the grill while we sat in the water. The steaks were amazing! high quality and perfectly cooked. We ate them with pieces of brie cheese and it was the best food we had tasted in 12 months. Capt. Rodrigo went above and beyond and his wife helped him design a whole charcuterie board with fruit and nuts and delicious cheese and fine salami. Capt. Steve and Rodrigo were great company as well as excellent hosts. The day was perfect, this was money well spent. I would go sailing with them again and again.

Had an excellent time with Captains Steve and Rodrigo. Sailed around Biscayne Bay for a couple hours under 10-12 knots of wind. Steve and Rodrigo are super laid back, fun to be around, considerate, and safe/professional at the same time.

Best bday gift ever!

Sailing with friends
We had the opportunity to go out in Mystiko during beginning of June there was a fantastic day., there were 13 nots, sunny the day, the Captian was great, the food was phenomenal, but most importantly the sailing was awesome. A wonderful experience
August 28 will go down as one of the top moments of my life thanks to Sailing Miami Bay - Biscayne Bay. I traveled with friends (English and French speaking) and the team accommodated all our language needs in addition to speaking Spanish.
We spent four hours cruising the bay and it was so much fun. We played music, took pictures, ate, drank, swam and sailed, we were truly merry. The swimming in the bay was the best part. I’m a terrible swimmer but fortunately, there were life vests and floatees on the boat. Never one to miss an adventure, I put on a life vest and jumped in. Best decision ever!!
Stephen and Rodrigo were a blast - funny, great personalities and overall great hosts. If you have a little extra money, you should splurge on a carne asada lunch. I’m told Stephen will wow you with his culinary skills. If you’re in Miami / Ft. Lauderdale don’t miss an opportunity to enjoy the water and swim in the Bay.

Steven was a fantastic host! He was accommodating and flexible. He not only took us on a great sail but prepared us with a fantastic appetizer spread while we sunned ourselves on the front portion of the boat. We had a blast on Steve’s boat! It was my girlfriends birthday so we did a 4 hour sunset cruise - it was perfect. We got to swim, Steve cooked up some amazing steaks, and then sailed around Miami looking at the skyline and sunset. He has a nice galley for making food/drinks when anchored and had comfy chairs to put on the front of the boat for when we set sail. Steve was an awesome captain. We’d highly recommend!
